I did this exact route last week, with a MAN-LHR before and could not get my AA BP for the LAX-LAS sector issued either in MAN or LHR. I had to collect it in LAX at the ticket desk in T4 from an extremely surly agent as I could not provide her with the AA flight number (only the BA codeshare number)
