I have both of these 'bugs' as well. Partner airline flights (also AA codes in my case) don't seem to count towards the totals and the remain gold simply shows what one needs at the beginning of the status year.
On a positive note: the 'your next flight' updates status when logging in to the app which it never did automatically for me in the past.^
