EDIT: Turns out I had already saved the Amex in question to my account sometime last year. Was able to get things to work by selecting that card from the pulldown menu at the top radio button. Hey, I'm happy it worked, but am still wondering why I got "invalid credit card" other than "you already saved this, dumba$$."
I tried to use an Amex card a few weeks back because my saved WN Visa had corrupted numbers (looked like the conversion put a date in the middle of the card number). I was unable to use my WN Visa as a "new" card.

Gave up.

Called the 800# and got through in just a few minutes. (!!) They could do the booking, but could not fix the stored credit card number....that took a wait for customer service. I did not wait.

As far as I know, my card # is still messed up.
