As an experienced traveler, you should know by now that there are many outside factors affecting on-time arrival: weather, air traffic, heck you can arrive on-time and have the jetbridge get stuck. Mechanical issues or even just a slow-running shuttle service. A very long list of things that can chip away at your 25 minutes before that second flight closes. If you choose to accept the risk, then good for you, most times it's going to be just fine. But you CANNOT wash your hands of all responsibility. US didn't send you on that trip; you made a concious decision when you bought your ticket and you do share some of the responsibility for the outcome.
Okay -- I think we've reached a stalemate on this one. I do appreciate everyone's thoughts on the matter. (As an aside, I do think the lecturing that I've received is a little unnecessary, but I salute all of you for not launching into a full-on name calling assault like the ones that I frequently witness on the DL board ).
