I fly this fairly frequently, at least one leg per trip to europe, three or four times a year for the last three years. Last time was in January for me, too. Can definitely report improved food - though that might be as much a result of better luck on menu items as anything - the rest is usually up to luck. FAs have been mostly fine, if unremarkable - my GTEMs in recent times have gone to LHR-based crews mostly. I kinda like the recliners to sleep on, but love watching movies on planes and thus hate the IFE on the old 772s.
Subs aren't unheard of - I got one in Jan

I flew out to Europe the day one of the mega storms kicked off at ORD - airport check in personnel at SAN swiftly dragged me into 6B on the earlier A320 into ORD, which was leaving in 30 minutes! ATC was operating in reduced landing mode of course, everything super controlled, etc etc, though departures to Europe were mostly on time. And, wouldn't you know it, we're on a new config, no idea if flights had got scrambled with the weather or what happened, but I gratefully accepted row 6 backwards facing and had the whole middle row to myself - airport was not very busy, I'm sure many people missed their connections that day.
Right now for a short while they are operating one flight a week on a 767 - my fave
