Please don't take it personally. There are a lot of pilots that are very focused on what the were hired for (flying you to your destination safely). I was never assessed for my "people-person skills" when I got hired.
Most of us are decent communicators though, but it's not part of the job description.
For the time being, I turn CH9 on, and make some memorable PAs, and try to keep them short, succinct, and sometimes a little humorous, but sometimes, a 14 hour day can suck the zazzle out of my announcements.
There are pretty much none of us that aren't glad you're on our planes, except if you're a troublemaker or a bad guy
So far, mister tilton or mister smisek are the only people I would prefer that they stay off of my flights.
