I recently spent 3 nights at the Diplomat Resort & Spa, with a nightly rate of $350 (not a special rate) total bill was close to $1400. Checking my account statement today I noticed I did not get credit for the stay/nights and only received 94 points in my SPG account. I called the SPG desk this morning and was told that Resort stays do not count towards stays/nights and only 'incidentals' charged there received any points!! Now I know that is the case with some of the Vacation properties, but I was unaware of this change towards all resorts.
Lurker, what gives?? Is this a new policy???</font>
You booked a package rate, which should have been eligible since it was booked on our web site. Sometimes the hotels confuse these things with package deals booked through tour operators or travel agents, which are not eligible.
I'm sure if you were to fax your hotel bill to Program Services that they would correct this oversight and let the property know that they need to flag this rate plan for earning Starpoints. The fax number is 512-836-4002.
