Makes sense to me. The trickier part, IMHO, will be getting any AA miles for the ORD-PHL sector.

I've been rerouted from a US flight that was PHL-DFW over to PHL-CMH on US in Y, then in F on AA from CMH-DFW. I asked and received credit on AA for the second leg w/class of service bonus.
