Hliton needs to have better controls in place like airlines do for upgrades. A diamond should always get upgraded over any other level HH status member (unless they paid for NOR-1 or reserved the upgraded room type). As a silver member on Delta I would never get upgraded before a diamond (unless I was on a full Y fare and the diamond was on a lower fare), which is the way it should be, and it should be the same way with hotels.
