Also, while comparing prices in Singapore, I didn't see that the prices are inflated:

Marina Bay Sands $269.11 HotelCard $276 Expedia $293 Orbitz
Holiday Inn Atrium $174.56 HotelCard $175 Expedia $158 Orbitz
Conrad Centennial $185.47 HotelCard $202 Expedia $219 Orbitz
River View Hotel $114.26 HotelCard $114 Expedia $114 Orbitz
.
I didn't see the USD$10.00 fee either, BUT the card can not be refunded if you cancel the reservation and many of the reservations are non-refundable.

Here is a sampling that I did:

Cebu, PH - Check-in: 28 July 2011; Check-out: 29 July 2011
(lowest available rate regardless of room type)
.................................................. .......thehotelcard.com......agoda.com
Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino........USD$ 80.63.............USD$ 89.00
Marco Polo Plaza Cebu...........................USD$ 85.93.............USD$101.00
Marriott City Cebu................................USD$117.78.... ..........N/A
Crown Regency Hotel and Towers............USD$ 75.89..............N/A
Radisson Blu Hotel Cebu........................USD$ 87.49...............USD$116.00
Shangri-La's Mactan Resort & Spa............USD$196.30..............USD$241.00

Bangkok, TH - Check-in:05 August 2011; Check-out: 06 August 2011
(matched room types)
.................................................. .....thehotelcard.com........agoda.com
Lebua at State Tower............................USD$126.65....... ......USD$127.00
The Peninsula Bangkok..........................USD$281.18....... ......USD$281.00
Banyan Tree Bangkok............................USD$154.55..... ........USD$193.00
Tower Club at Lebua............................ .USD$190.00.............USD$190.00
Le Meridien Bangkok..............................USD$165.40... ..........N/A
The Westin Grande Sukhumvit Bangkok.....USD$162.09.............N/A

These are real travel dates for me and places that I would for the most part consider staying if the price were right. The hotelcard.com seems like a good deal for the PH (even with the USD$10.00 fee) but much less so for TH (based on this single travel situation.)

I am still considering the deal but given the deals for Discover America I might want to conserve my funds.
