It requires 2 nights, so you essentially get $50 off 2 night stay, and you have to pay a fee of $10, so net discount is $40, and not to mention that the prices are a bit inflated, hence no discount at all...
You will come a little ahead when you factor in cashback and/or coupons, but don't forget that you earn no points with the hotel chain that you will be staying at. So not such a good deal in my book....
Marriott 10% off gift card promo is way better in my book.
Where is the $10 fee mentioned? I can't find it. Is it included in the taxes?
Also, while comparing prices in Singapore, I didn't see that the prices are inflated:
Marina Bay Sands $269.11 HotelCard $276 Expedia $293 Orbitz
Holiday Inn Atrium $174.56 HotelCard $175 Expedia $158 Orbitz
Conrad Centennial $185.47 HotelCard $202 Expedia $219 Orbitz
River View Hotel $114.26 HotelCard $114 Expedia $114 Orbitz
It seems to me that if you book hotels below $150/night all-in it's a decent deal if you stick to 2-night stays, provided there is no $10 fee. Better than 10% off. The main problem I have with it is the 1 card per stay limit, but if you're traveling with someone you can just alternate 2-night bookings.
