I can't remember now but I believe it was that way when making the reservation through Marriott.com but not through the cosmo's website so you might try that as an alternative.
This happened to me when I stayed there in January. This is completely refundable if you cancel your reservation and will show up as a credit on your bill. This is a typical Las Vegas antic that makes you hesitate before changing plans or switching hotels for that matter.
