Can you prove IRROPS wasn't actually weather?

Today my DL Compass flight from PHL to MSP was cancelled. My company travel agent spent a long time with DL on the phone but since they claim it was weather related they won't put me on US, the other DL nonstop is full, and I will now be missing my meeting tonight. They did protect me for a later flight, but landing 5 hours later than planned and after my meeting.

All understandable, I am not completely new to IRROPS. However, flightstats shows only 3 flights cancelled out of MSP this morning, and flights into EWR and PHL are slight delays with only a few cancels mostly from the South. Last night there were only 3 cancels into MSP as well, two Pinnacle and one Mesaba, no Compass, so problem should not be related to my plane being stuck in ATL etc. by my reasoning.

I don't plan to push the issue or complain to DL, but having seen many delays blamed on weather when I don't believe that to be true, I'm wondering if there is a way to prove something wasn't weather related?
