I disagree with the premise that noise coming from outside the room (whether from a baby, elevator, lounge, or sexfest) is outside of a hotel's control. Why don't they build the places with better soundproofing?! This has become a make-or-break issue with me. There are locations I will not stay at any longer because of their paper-thin walls and huge-gapped doors.
