I had this problem at the Sheraton RDU - hotel was 30% occupied. I was put next door to a family who had a screaming child at 3 AM. It is not the hotel's fault (can't control a baby), but when they're 30% full I think that they could have realized that putting me next to somebody in an adjoining room (there is no soundproofing) may not have been the best choice.
Luckily, after two nights of this I spoke up and the front desk manager apologized and moved me to a much nicer room. But I think that if *wood is catering to people's pets, perhaps they could have a special family floor that is far far away from the business traveller?

Just an idea for the marketeers out there. . .
