You might also check around and see if you know someone that has Business extrAA UPG certificates. They are relatively easy to find, and they allow for one-segment upgrades on flights with A inventory open at any time in advance once the res is ticketed. Can't be used for N,O,Q,S inventory, but they work like a charm.
