Many thanks for the helpful replies. I appreciate the help, I was hesitant to post this question as I feared I would be laughed at.

I know of customs restrictions and that is why I don't take these food items home when I visit the UK. I am flying to Hong Kong from LHR and will meet my mother there as we will be touring China (after spending a few days in HK), so I as crazy as this may sound, I thought this would be a golden oppourtunity to take some of her favourite food items from London. I know HK customs allows these products (or at least did last year, when I had taken cheese with me to HK from Australia), so AFAIK, customs isn't an issue.

A question, any idea where I can get cold packs/freeze packs, I am staying at a hotel but will need to check out by noon (or earlier) and my flight departs late at night, so I won't have the use of a fridge the day I fly out.
