But another way to look at this is that you basically just got a $500 RT ticket after only flying 12 segments. The old program you would have needed 16.
I've flown just 8 legs between AUS and HOU on AT fares (I'm AL+, though) and have already purchased a $400 RT to LAX using points. So, I don't really care about the points to credits conversion, I just got a free ticket in half the time it would have taken under the old program.
