From 2E to 2D it's a 10 minutes walk (or 5 minutes run).
I'd say 45 minutes is about what I had in mind too - depending on whether you arrive at a remote stand or not. 30 minutes late (remote stand) or 45 minutes (no remote stand) and you should be fine, 45 minutes late (remote stand) or 1 hour late (no remote stand) and you could still make the connection but would need to rush (walk very fast if not run if it proves insufficient!).
Two additional points:
- as discussed in other threads, one of my personal 'pet frustrations' (what an oxymoron!) with AF is that sometimes, your plane supposed to land at 2E will in fact land at, say, 2F. This is in fact very rare (albeit not unheard of) with long haul flights, more frequent for medium haul flights. Still, just in case, pay attention to the announcements at the end of the flight ('we will be arriving in terminal 2X) rather than take 2E for granted.
- there are as you could see two completely separate parts of terminal 2E (the terminal 2E per se, and satellite S3) which, as far as I'm concerned, would have been better off being called 2E and 2H (I guess) instead. If you know CDG you recognise imimediately where you are but if you don't this can be a bit confusing - you'll need to figure out quickly where you are if you want to figure out which of your well-learnt transfer instructions to apply, or if unsure, double check with the personnel in the terminal.
