I very much doubt it. I'm sure I'm not the only one who books lots of business travel on aa.com, but who needs to gets authorization between finding the fare and booking it. If AA got rid of the 24+ hour hold option, or started charging for it, more companies would likely push their employees to use corporate travel agents (who have much more flexibility) which would go against AA's policy of wanting direct sales.
