How could you listen to music whilst having all electronic devices switched off?

BA changed their PA and safety video last year to include "and all headsets removed" -so you have to take earphones out of your ears etc. They won't activate the IFE until airborne (unless there's a ground delay, in which case they will deactivate it for takeoff.)

As for wearing things 'round your neck -that's a made up rule. You are allowed to wear ties and scarves for takeoff and landing, so I don't see why you can't wear headphones around your neck. Maybe the cc member thought you were going to try to sneak them back in to your ears as soon as s/he had completed the cabin secure check...

It's annoying when things like this happen because I like to think I follow the rules and it's kind of embarrassing when they tell you off!
