Going just slightly off topic, what about listening to music while takeoff and landing? Some airlines make you take off your headphones, others not. On Qantas you can even watch movies from the time you get in your seat until the time you land, so it can't be a health and safety question.

I quite like listening to music during take off and landing as I find it creates a nice mood, especially if you've got a good track on. I don't do drugs, so this is my high.
