It's always feasible for a Diamond if the Diamond has a few days to let the combination+redemption process take place and is willing to let the Diamond account be temporarily depleted (at least almost completely).

A Diamond can temporarily deplete the Diamond account of points by making some other (free-cancel) award reservations using points from their own account and then put in for the combining of points from another account.
