Just tell him you're one of the six people in the world with a subscription to Monocle and he'll be in heaven. I like some of his columns in the Weekend FT, but he has a tendency to come across as a pompous blowhard. Not that you asked my opinion of the man, but there it is. I'm not sure I'd actually recognise him if I saw him.
