Sometimes a negotiated rate (also available on some other third-party booking sites) is included in the search results on southwest.com. It would still be true that the OP "won't
earn anything extra;" in fact, the rate well could be a wholesale rate that earns neither hotel points nor RR points.
One small technicality: if motel rooms booked at southwest.com bill as soutwest.com purchases (I have no idea), and you pay with the "Classic" ($39/year) RR Visa, there would be the slight additional earnings due to 2x RR Visa points.
