I can see where the 'combining' of points to a diamond's account redemption may not be feasible if the diamond actually has the 'necessary number' of GP points for the requested redemption!
If the OP is only redeeming GP pts from a non-diamond's GP a/c, then it's worth a call to GP to make sure the reservation reflects the diamond's GP info.!@:-)
