The Hay Adams is my favorite for its location (across from the WH), size and impeccable service. The views make it even more memorable. If properties wrapped in history (with luxurious renovations) interest you, this would be a good choice.

A little trivia.....The term "lobbyist" originated from the days when President Ulysses S Grant would walk from the White House to the Hay Adams for a brandy and cigar in the lobby, and people would meet him there to ask for favors. Lobbyists. Or so the story goes.

Full breakfast, upgrade (if available) and $75 f&b credit are the Virtuoso amenities.
