Using Marriott $1000 Cruise Certificate for 2 staterrooms

Hi,

I am trying to use the Marriot $1000 Cruise Certificate to book for 2 staterrooms for 4 people. The room rate is at $249 per person and I want pay the remaing with a credit card. However I was told by the agent that I could only use the certificate toward one room, he is not able to split the certificate over 2 rooms. I will need to redeem 2 certificates if I want to apply to both cabins. This means I would have to get the $500 certifciate for 100,000 points, but then it's like redeeming $1000 for 200,000 points, an additional of 65,000 points for the same amount!!!

I would think that since I am making one reservation for 2 cabins, I should be able to get a total combined on one bill, why does this has to be treated as 2 separate reservations? Is there any way for CuriseOnly to link the to cabins to one reservation? I have a feeling this agent is new and doesn't have much experience with MR curise certificate. Does anyone know if this could done?

Thank you very much!
