update on singapore airlines and getting to FUK

I called Singapore Airlines and they say they will refund my ticket minus $100. So I did that and got the confirmation email that they will refund my CC.

So now the question is how to get to FUK. I'm looking at UA to NRT with a *A connection to an ANA flight - about a 2 hour layover in NRT, or Asiana through Seoul. Am kind of leaning toward UA due to my 1K status and the 50% EQM bonus but of course that means a couple of hours in NRT - still on the state dept list of places not to go to in Japan. Seat-wise Asiana is flying the slip and slide in Biz and UA is flying the old 777s as far as I know it's even worse that the slip and slide - but there is a chance of a possible opup or regular upgrade to F and I can call the 1K desk and ask about that. I could also fly ANA through HND I believe that's also a slip and slide in biz. No horizonal lie flats that I can see at least from LAX. UA seems to be the way to go if I want the 50% eqm bonus on a Z fare - the other airlines offer just 100% for the eqm through star alliance. I don't care too much about horizonal lie flat on the outbound anyway if I can get a daytime flight I will not sleep.

Does anyone know if the lounges are fully functioning in NRT? I.e. the UA RCC and the ANA lounge for domestic connections from international flights?
Also how are the NRT area hotels if one misses a connection? Last time I did the UA to NRT - to an ANA domestic connection thing I was treated very well by ANA due to my *G status.
