Etiquette question: How many time should you open overhead bins in WT/WT+?
Is it okay to get up once in a while to get items out of the overhead bins in WT/WT+?
I ask as yesterday I found myself back in WT+ after several flights in CW or F where there is plenty of seat storage space such as the drawer in CW or the shelf and seat area in F where I could store the items I use during a flight...
In WT or WT+ obviously there is no space at all for an aisle seat in an exit row so how do others deal with this? Do you simply arm yourself with all of your goodies and wear clothing with lots of pockets or do you get up once in a while to get your headphones and put back your book, etc? I realise that if there is a seat in front, then I could use the pocket there to hold some items or if it was a window seat then sometimes there is space between the two for items but what about aisle seats in exit rows...
Yesterday there was a silver card holder behind me that obviously didn't like the fact that I was getting up once every two hours or so (or 4 times over a 9 hour flight) and quietly trying to access my bag in the bin above him (even though I was truly trying to be as quiet as possible and not touching him or anyone else in the process, also worth mentioning that nothing was leaning out precariously so that he would have to worry about it falling on him). It may have simply been the activity that he noticed and he may have found that distracting or maybe he was worried I was going to root around in his bags...or maybe he was simply in a bad mood...
As I have been surprised by what others have said on this forum about other etiquette questions thought I would put it to my peers and learn if I need to look around for baggy trousers with pockets or not...
Thanks in advance!
