If you check the tread for the Amex bonus for spending of $500 or more in a single transaction, you will see (on p 6) that a different bonus has become the topic.
The one now in question ran from 9/15 to 11/15 and promised 5000 bonus points for spending of $1000 or more at the properties during the period. There was a lower bonus (I think 500 points) for lower spending, but I don't remember that detail since I set out to pass $1000, and did.
AMEX has now posted bonuses, and as far as we can all tell, it has simply given double points, not the 500/5000 points promised. When I called AMEX, a nice young man (in India I believe) read me the stock reply of "we will look into it and it will take 8 weeks". Since he seemed to have no understanding of the issue or of their bonus program, my confidence was not raised.
Is there any way you can communicate with the right folks at AMEX (your marketing partners for such promotions I imagine) and ask them to fix this mistake? It has obviously effected lots of your mutual customers.
