Does anyone know the earliest time at which you can check in for an international flight at the Rarotonga airport? I'm flying RAR-AKL, departing 5pm, and have some time to kill which I would prefer to spend at the lounge.

I had a 7.00pm flight last wednesday, the checkin counters opened at 4.30 but did not go through customs and xrays till 5.20 as the customs officers had not turned up (quite regular from what I was told) they work on island time
Finally got into the AirNZ lounge at 5.45 to have a much needed shower! Very limited food there so dont hold ya breath for a decent feed, drinks good though along with the aircon which was great as the flight was delayed due to problems with the plane.
Remember to get your departure tax $55.00! this is over and above what you pay on your ticket, all news to me
