Apparently, the Swisshotel in Buckhead is converting to a W (and the restaurants currently there are not having their leases extended--thus the food critic connection).

Swissotel is actually going to become a Westin.

From 25 OCT AJC:

"The Swissotel in Buckhead is Westin-bound.

The 365-room hotel, one of Atlanta's poshest hotel addresses and home to the legendary Palm restaurant, will become the Westin Buckhead, property owner Host Marriott Corp. announced Friday. The switch will be made Jan. 7."

W is going to be a new building very near the existing Sheraton Buckhead.

From 18 OCT AJC:

"Buckhead's skyline may get a chic new addition as Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide plans a second W Hotel in Atlanta.

Starwood's plans call for a 38-story, 225-room hotel on the site of the Lenox Inn at 3387 Lenox Road, according to plans filed with the city of Atlanta."
