Speaking solely for myself, I wince every time I see these. I think they reek of desperation and a misplaced desire to be a short-term social media sensation rather than carefully and consistently building a long-term brand image. But I will freely admit that part of my distaste is because I am quite attached to and feel quite invested in the old NZ brand, which is my favourite airline and one which I've long admired for the savvy way it blended sophistication with a relaxed informality.
I very much agree with this.
I also really like a recent Virgin Atlantic
advertisement, which for an airline that has traditionally had a gimmicky brand is very polished but not too serious.
