So I'd have to spend a night in NRT or an area hotel on the outbound and likewise on the return. Basically two full days staying in this area where this is still a travel warning. There is no way for me to just fly in and out of NRT due to lack of scheduled flights. Whereas if I fly into and out of ICN I can have a good connection and no overnight stay in Seoul. The difference is on the order of 12-14 hours of travel time each direction, plus two overnights.
Like I said above, from FUK the easiest way to get to/from LAX is via ICN!
