So do you see any reason why using the costo awd & the FB coupon wouldn't work? I've looked through the t&c a few times and I think it should work - don't want to get burned though....

IMHO, they've overly complicated this promo. If a silver and a plat both earn the same 51,500 award miles for their 6 rentals why the different AWDs? ? ! ?
Tell me this. If I'm Silver with FB and use the proper AWD for my reservations but during the promo period I advance to Gold status do I need to re-book any future reservations with the AWD for Gold members? If I don't have I given Avis a loophole on the terms of earning the miles?
Again, overly complicated without any benefit as far as I can see.
Edit: Oops. I see now that one's status with FB will affect one's discount rate with Avis and thus the reason for the different AWDs. This must be new... or I've been out of touch.
