Agree, in fact Thai Plat Amex converts any foreign currency into USD first and then to Thai baht, so double exchange rate charges.
The extra bonus 25% miles on foreign purchases is probably there because other card holders and myself only use the card in Thailand and they are trying to counter the double bubble echange rate charge.
Like most credit cards you need to be careful as all have their own unique benefits and pitfalls.
Still awaiting an answer to my questions from BKKROP re the double 50% award tickets in conjunction with ROP Gold card and Amex card as many could benefit if correct. Not sure if BKKROP holds this card so a bit confused and more worrying is passing incorrect advice to a newbie !!
