We have stayed at both properties with the most recent visit being to the Westin Maui this past July. We did spend some time down at the Sheraton Maui's pool so we could spend the day snorkeling at Black Rock. We stayed a week at the Sheraton Maui a few years ago. We did not love the Westin Maui, but our teenagers did. The rooms really are ridiculously small and we were in the "large" deluxe ocean view rooms. The pool area is much better at the Westin than the Sheraton's in my opinion, but love the setting of the Sheraton. It is nice to be able to go to all the Starwood properties if you are staying at one. Love Maui!
