I think that the casinos issue 1099's, not W-2's.
They issue w2-g or 1099-misc.
The taxes (even if not reported by AA) are still subject to tax if you're honest on your taxes. You would need to fill in 597 in for the value of the winnings even if they didnt send you a 1099.
