Sorry beg to differ on this one. Although Thai try very hard to get you a seat with reward, especially if you are Gold and even more especially if you can get into the local Thai office, Bangkok being the one to go to if you can. There are times however when I have seen seats, especially in F, which show for sale but are not available for redemption. Now if you are using the Amex 50% mileage discount for a companion, tie this in with the TG award, but to avoid dissappointment make sure there are plenty of seats available and book in advance. Best of luck, if you want First class, TG is the airline to fly, nowadays they have F on many routes, it is not the best F in the world, but it is very available to ROP members, PM me if I can help further.
Very confused about this, as I have the local Thai Amex platinum card and the only 50% deal on award I am aware of is the one where you purchase a F or Biz class ticket and then they will provide an award ticket, subject to availabilty, for a companion. BTW they have just adjusted this so that is only for F and A in First class and C and B class in Biz.
BKKROP, I hope you are right about the Amex and 50% discount award ticket together as this would be something I did not know and have learnt from you and being able to get two 50% discount award tickets would make many people happy also. As I agree it is best to help fellow Ft members, especially new members who maybe confused with the advice they are given by fellow members.
