Elite Baggage Allowance on Codeshare

I'm a UA 1K and enjoying immensely the ability to check in 3 bags @ 70lbs each on my international flights to Africa. It's almost as good as the occasional SWU that I receive!

It is my understanding from reading other threads that this 3 bag @ 70lb limit when checking in with a UA metal flight in the US also applies to a 3 bag @ 70lb (free) limit on connecting *A flights, e.g., when I fly with SN from BRU to Kinshasa. (That is also, BTW, a codeshare flight).

However, the last time that I traveled that route I was stopped by the gate agent in BRU and told that I would have to pay for one of the bags (as well as for the overweight kilos) because I was exceeding SN's baggage allowance. Fortunately another gate agent overheard the comment and intervened to explain that this was a UA baggage allowance. So they let me through.

So, my question is where can I find some "official" documentation at UAL.com (or elsewhere) that I could print out and carry with me in case I run into that situation again? Does such a document or policy statement exist? And, if so, where?

Thanks,
FRANK
