I think that Google routes you along roads. I have also walked* daytime, but clockwise from the CP (so anti-clockwise from the Hilton) using the non-vehicular paths. The Google map you referenced does show the paths. I didn't time it but I'm sure it didn't take 11 minutes.

* I took a short cut through an NEC car park close to the Hilton, but I'm confident that the paths will be OK. You could call the hotel/s to doublecheck.
