There is a very good steak restaurant in Pretoria, I forget the name but it is well known so the concierge should steer you to it. Maybe as good as Argentinian beef, maybe not, but very good and very cheap by US standards. Pretoria itself is a sleepy town and generally nicer to stay in Sandton. If the Sheraton moved you to the Towers they would also give you one of the corner half-suites and you might like that better (nicer room than the Towers but no butler service, which is a blessing as you may have discovered by now). Last time I stayed there I didn't have a choice, as I was meeting Mandela for breakfast at the Sheraton (along with lots of other people, but still I can say I had breakfast with Nelson Mandela). Otherwise I would prefer to stay at several other hotels in Sandton or even Rosebank. The Sheraton Pretoria does have very nice rooms, but that isn't always enough.
