Each row is independent, with the B seat squashing and the DEF seats expanding (with E unsold in CE).
In UK Domestic, B will be squished but DEF will not be expanded.
The squishing is also a bit hit and miss. I flew LGW-EDI return the other week. On the way back, the B seat seemed pretty much full size whereas on the way up it looked like CE.
