Exactly right! I try to maximize my status vs. maximizing points (although I do that as well). I'm Diamond with Hyatt, Hilton, and Platinum with SPG...Hyatt and SPG being my priority.

Back on topic...the Hyatt in Bonita is worth chasing status if you frequent that area.
