What will you get from BA, upgrade wise, if you only buy their cheapest fare on all your trips? You might be comparing Apples to Oranges here.

If you buy M or B fare from AC, you will only need 16 or 12 credits for a round trip. B fare also lets you confirm an upgrade at purchase with available R space - no aerolotto or anxiety. You will get 10 credits as you cross 20k and 40k each, and 20 more credits as you cross 60k.
