I haven't heard any reports of scanners being installed at DAL, either here or at tsastatus.net. This
article confirms that: coming later this year but if you're traveling in a couple of weeks, you'll be safe.
DFW has lots of scanners, but there are still a few checkpoints that are scanner-free (metal detector only), and the whole airport is connected on the secure side, so if you allow extra time, you can use a non-scanner checkpoint.
Assuming nothing out of the ordinary (valid id, no metal on your person), you should not worry about getting a pat down at a non-scanner checkpoint.
I'd use either DAL or DFW, just choose whichever has the best flights for your trip.
