Here is my 2c.

In Munich, my latest experience was with the Ren. Did stay in MR and MR airport before that. I found the Ren fine. Maybe slightly dated, but all things functional. That said, it does not have air condition. Got upgraded to a huge suite. Breakfast was in restaurant (comp for PLT) and it was very good in terms of quality and variety...I did not think the location is shady, thought it is residential. 3 minutes to subway is a plus.

That said, I recently checked Munich Marriott for a 5 nights stay on reward. I found 100K points (for 2 adults & 2 young kids). Standard offer would be 2 queens, unless get lucky with a suite upgrade.

Since you want more centralized location than Rive Gauche, Ren ADT may fit your bill.
