Hey all,
I was wondering if someone could advise me on whether I will have trouble as an 18 year old checking into a NYC Sheraton tomorrow for one night?

What are the official rules on such things?

Thanks!

It depends upon the individual hotel policy. In this case, I called the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers and asked them. They said as long as the person checking in has an id of some kind - drivers license preferred - 18 and above checking in is okay. They do have a 21 or over alcohol policy, however.
