Unless you were buying latitude or M fares, that's more than you got under the old system. If you aren't, the old system gave you two red certificates and then a fist full of blue and green wallpaper. You would not have earned any more red certificates until you crossed 40,000 miles.

Now, as an SE who is only allowed to buy cheap fares (my boss would give birth to a litter of kittens if I tried to justify a Latitude or even M class fare), the new system is glorious. You just have to play the game right.
